Terms of Use
Bowel Diagnostics & Therapy is committed to protecting your privacy. Our practices protect personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles, the 1998 Privacy Act, Queensland Legislation, My Health Records legislation and the Notifiable Data Breaches Scheme.
Welcome to Bowel Diagnostics! These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of our website located at www.boweldoctors.com.au and any associated mobile applications (together, "the Platform"). The Platform is owned and operated by Medusa Health Care Pty Ltd (ABN 40 621 813 018) ("we", "us", "Bowel Diagnostics").
Please read these Terms carefully. By accessing or using the Platform in any way including making, amending or cancelling a booking - you confirm you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
Results and Health Records
Our booking platform is an intake and scheduling tool. Information you submit is securely transferred via API to MediRecords, our clinical information system, which our Practitioners and clinical staff use to manage your clinical record.
We take reasonable steps to deliver diagnostic results to your referring practitioner in a timely manner in accordance with our clinical governance procedures; however, timeframes may vary depending on pathology/histology turnaround and clinical urgency.
The Platform is not the authoritative medical record — MediRecords is the system of record for your clinical information. Refer to your referring practitioner or treating Practitioner for the interpretation of results — content on the Platform does not constitute a diagnosis.
We store and handle your health information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable health records legislation (see Section 9).
Payments and Refunds
Fees for services may be payable online, in person, or via Medicare/health fund billing, as displayed on the Platform. You agree to pay all applicable fees and out-of-pocket costs.
Online payments are processed by [Stripe / Tyro / other provider], whose terms and privacy policy apply to that transaction. Payment processing is not controlled by us.
Eligibility for any refund (e.g. for a cancelled or rescheduled procedure) is determined in accordance with our cancellation policy and applicable consumer law. Refunds will only be made to the original payment method.
User Submissions
Any non-clinical feedback, testimonials or general enquiries you submit via the Platform (excluding your protected health information) may be used by us for service-improvement or promotional purposes at our discretion, subject to our Privacy Policy.
Privacy and Health Information
We collect personal and sensitive health information via the Platform in order to provide diagnostic and booking services, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and any applicable state health records legislation.
By providing personal information, you agree to our handling of it as described in our Privacy Policy and our Collections Notice, each as amended from time to time.
By continuing with a booking on the Platform, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Collections Notice, and to receive information relevant to your booking and related Bowel Diagnostics services.
Where you separately opt in during the booking process, we may also use your information to provide you with personalised health content or service updates. This is optional, is not required in order to complete your booking, and can be withdrawn at any time by contacting us (see our Privacy Policy for contact details).
You warrant that you have obtained consent from any third party whose personal information you submit on their behalf (e.g. booking on behalf of a family member).
